In an effort to expand the diversity of the audience for its Trade Connect program, the Port of Los Angeles plans to conduct a free export trade seminar in Spanish from 1:30 pm to 5 pm Thurs., Sept. 27, at the Los Angeles Harbor College Music Recital Hall, 1111 Figueroa Place, in Wilmington.
Trade Connect is an export education program created by the Port of Los Angeles and designed for small and medium-sized businesses to learn the fundamentals of shipping internationally and identifying overseas markets. Workshops occur throughout the year.
After Congresswoman Janice Hahn delivers opening remarks during the Sept. 27 seminar, representatives from the Port of Los Angeles and other agencies, including the US Department of Commerce, US Small Business Association’s Export Assistance Center, the Los Angeles Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association, Los Angeles World Airports and Harbor Business Source Center, will be on hand to discuss a variety of trade topics.
Areas of discussion include how to introduce products to the international market; how to arrange the logistics/transportation of products; financing and insuring shipments; and working with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
Those wishing to attend the workshop can pre-register online here.
