Federal Maritime Commission Chair Mario Cordero and the
executive directors of the Los Angeles and Long Beach ports have been named as
speakers at the fifth annual PortTechEXPO taking place in the LA waterfront area
on Sept. 17.
The PortTechEXPO is an annual gathering now in its fifth
year that is hosted by PortTech LA. During the event, technology companies can connect
with business prospects at Southern California’s ports and explore
opportunities.
This year’s event features demonstrations, interactive
displays and new advancements in environment, energy, transportation and
security technology solutions.
The event’s scheduled for 8 am to 3 pm at Crafted at the
Port of Los Angeles, a large-scale craft marketplace located at 110 East 22nd
St. in San Pedro.
Speakers during the morning session include Cordero, Port of
LA Executive Director Gene Seroka and Port of Long Beach Executive Director Jon
Slangerup. Also during the event, San Diego County-based TransPower is set to
become the first-ever recipient of the event’s Advancing Innovation Award,
which recognizes PortTech LA client companies that have excelled in moving from
concept to production. TransPower’s fleet of heavy-duty, zero-emission
vehicles, including drayage trucks and yard tractors, will be showcased at the expo.
