Federal Maritime Commission Chair Mario Cordero and the executive directors of the Los Angeles and Long Beach ports have been named as speakers at the fifth annual PortTechEXPO taking place in the LA waterfront area on Sept. 17.

The PortTechEXPO is an annual gathering now in its fifth year that is hosted by PortTech LA. During the event, technology companies can connect with business prospects at Southern California’s ports and explore opportunities.

This year’s event features demonstrations, interactive displays and new advancements in environment, energy, transportation and security technology solutions.

The event’s scheduled for 8 am to 3 pm at Crafted at the Port of Los Angeles, a large-scale craft marketplace located at 110 East 22nd St. in San Pedro.

Speakers during the morning session include Cordero, Port of LA Executive Director Gene Seroka and Port of Long Beach Executive Director Jon Slangerup. Also during the event, San Diego County-based TransPower is set to become the first-ever recipient of the event’s Advancing Innovation Award, which recognizes PortTech LA client companies that have excelled in moving from concept to production.
